WandaVision and Mutants/Young Avengers

WandaVision is just one of the many Marvel TV series that will launch on Disney+ over the coming years. Each series will tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in many different ways. WandaVision in particular will follow, yes you guessed it: Wanda (Scarlett Witch) and Vision.

The show is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will eventually lead to her introduction into the upcoming movie titled Doctor Strange: Into The Multiverse Of Madness. The show is set to begin as a sort of ‘American Sit-com’ and eventually transition into almost a huge Marvel movie, it’s been described as both weird and mind-blowing with full plot details still not yet revealed.

WandaVision and The Mutants:

However, the latest big news around WandaVision is the recent leaked casting call for two young infants. If this leak is true then this could be the first introduction of mutants into the MCU. Long story-short: in a popular comic storyline titled ‘House of M’, Wanda suffers a mental breakdown and changes reality using her powers, she eventually creates two children named Wiccan and Speed. Wiccan’s powers consist of being skilled in using various forms of magic and Speed’s powers consist of, well: Super speed.

House Of M and The Young Avengers

How does this tie into the MCU? Well this is where things get really interesting. The poster for WandaVision shows Wanda and Vision living a rather tranquil life in what looks like to be set in the 60’s. Yet, as we know, Vision was killed during the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

Wanda and Vision

The likely reason for this is that Wanda is altering reality and creating one in which her and vision are happy together, this could lead to creating the two Mutant children in the MCU and losing her mind somewhere during the process, the end to this series may involve Doctor Strange coming to Wanda’s rescue in order to save her from her worst enemy: herself.

Therefore, WandaVision could be our first very glimpse at mutants in the MCU while also exploring the well known ‘House of M’ storyline. Another key detail to take into account is that Wiccan and Speed go on to join the Young Avengers, another project highly expected to come from Marvel Studios in the coming years.
