Cassian Andor Star Wars

10 Disney Plus series all set in the Star Wars universe are currently in development from LucasFilm. One of the 10 announced is titled Andor. A series focusing on Rogue One Character Cassian Andor. Find out more below!

Who is Cassian Andor?

Cassian Andor first appeared in Star Wars: Rogue One, he was a rebel spy played by actor Diego Luna.

In the Star Wars Universe, Cassian Andor helped steal the plans for the first Death Star, all in hope for answers on how to destroy it.

Despite the mission being successful, sadly Cassian Andor and his team died. The rest? Well, we all know what happens after that.

What is The Andor Series About?

The 12 episode long series will follow Cassian Andor 5 years before the events of Star Wars: Rogue One.

This is a time in which the rebellion was just starting to take form.

Andor will reportedly explore the characters past, origins, family, and how he became a spy for the rebellion.

The series current synopsis is as such: ‘The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.’

That’s all we know about the plot for Andor so far. However, more information will likely be released over the coming months.

The release date for the Cassian Andor series is uncertain, all we know for now is that it is coming sometime in 2022.

Andor Series Trailer:

Diego Luna on returning to as Cassian Andor:

Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” said Luna. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”

Andor Series Cast:

While nothing is yet official the current cast line-up is: Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa, Alistair Petrie as General Draven, and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, with newcomers Stellan Skarsgard, Denise Gough, Adria Arjona, and Kyle Soller, all in unknown roles.

Will there be a Andor Season 2?

While not yet confirmed, a second season could possibly be on the cards. When responding to whether his character will appear in the series, Alan Turdyk said this: “I’m going to be in the show. It’s just that the story… doesn’t involve K-2SO until later on… I can’t be too specific, but I can definitely say that I’m not going to be in the first season.”

The keywords here are ‘first season’. That’s a rather big hint that the Andor Disney Plus show will be longer than just 12 episodes.
